Beach Day

So today marked the first day of SUMMER...  Man it's about time.... Goodness have we been experiencing some June Gloom or what?...

I had no idea a couple weeks back when organizing this little beach day how fantastic our first day of summer was really going to be.  My luck it would be just like most days.... rainy



But boy did we luck out..... it was pretty much the most amazing weather day we've had in at least 2 weeks. 

Me and the other moms were defiantly "SUN DRUNK"  (if that's even possible)  Just totally in a state of bliss.... feet in the sand... sunglasses on (I'm sure some of us had a hard time locating...as they just aren't all that necessary most of the time) enjoying each others company and watching the kids be well kids.

Colten worked on his letters this morning.... I felt this was an appropriate

thing to spell.... 

There was all sorts of excitement happening when we arrived...  Dylan found a crab (my first thought was oooohhh lunch) but it wasn't a keeper.  Thanks Jen for being so brave and holding that creepy little bugger...

Ben totally LOVES the beach... he's got that from me I'm sure :)

One of the daddies even came to visit while he was workin...

My non water kid was in the water.... go figure

Ben loved every minute of it... he was most happy just scoopin mud and throwing it...

Leicey wins the cool mom award for the day... she caught a bullhead with he bare hands to share with the kids...

I know for sure that when you live where we live you just simply CAN NOT take days like this for granted.... 

We are totally looking forward to days just like this for the next couple of months before we go back into hibernation...
