Nana Kathy's Here... Let the adventures begin!

After many hours of travel, she's finally here! (we wont talk about how I got us lost in Bainbridge after picking her up from the ferry, but hey we eventually made it home..right?!) She's here all the way from Mississippi!    Our canned ham (our little campin trailer) is her home away from home here at Larsen Landing and me and the boys couldn't be more excited to share our summer adventures with her while she's here.

She got busy right away working on little secret projects with Colten... Colten loves a good secret project!

Nana Kathy always seems to be visiting during the busiest time of the year... it's always project time around here...
Recently I received the OK to remove that icky Juniper bush!

And Nana Kathy was ready and willing to assist with removal!

Ughhh I sooo can't wait for it to be gone!

Ben found the secret little project.... shhhh don't tell Papa!

I love this photo... Another love of Nana Kathys... wood splitting!  Yep not my idea of a vacation but hey if she wants to split some wood, I'm not standin in her way!

Nana Kathy, Papa, and Colten are away celebrating Great Grandmas birthday... due to TOO many chicken responsiblilities someone had to stay behind... and that someone was me and my little lovie... we had a super mellow, easy, peaceful day!

Yep Ben it's just me and you today...
Why do you look so worried! It's going to be great!

New wildflowers are blooming in my garden everyday... I was lucky enough to catch this one with a little leftover rain drops from our random day of showers after over 30 days of sun!  GORGEOUS!

Wildflowers are my fav!

So much variety!

Calendula finally decided to grace us with its presence.... this batch was slow movin!

A little flower of sunshine...

My new camera amazes me daily!  Thank you hubby, the joy of stunning photos taken by me makes my heart dance!

Ok KEEP Calm... there's only a few ripe enough to pick...

But just a reminder that this is just a small small part of our berry population!
Nana Kathy thank goodness you're here!

Another project... rock laid in front of and around the coop
A whole lot of shoveling but we'll be glad we did it come this winter!

The girls obviously dig their new nesting boxes...

Super excited about our Poop Board....  haha what's this world coming to?  Really!
If you're not a chicken person... I'll enlighten you as to why this is sooo awesome.  Chickens sleep on a roost, well they also poop ALOT when they are on their roost... so instead of letting it fall to the ground it's all caught in this tray which is at arms reach... so it can be cleaned out with a kitty litter scoop in under a minute flat!  It's awesome and Jeromy.. you have quickly become a chicken boarding extraordinaire!

Rudy Approved!

Rudy, Clara and Peatree approved!

Thank goodness I have such a great watering buddy!

As long as their not trampling my flowers I actually love seein chickens in my garden!

Num Num!

Baby Lucy getting in on the dirt bath action!  Love how close I can get now without Mama spazzin out!

So cool how Lucy is totally "in" with the other chickens... no integrating necessary!

Great action shot... watch out Rudy is lovin his "bath" time!

Enjoying their new roost...

I'll give you one guess what kind of poo that is.....
and guess where we found this poo???

Yep that's the poo there and that's our house...
Comforting right?!!!

I love this little slice of paradise we call home...
So blessed!  I constantly find myself just mystified by the beauty that surrounds us!

Ok so after tuckin the big chickens in and takin in all that beauty, I cam upon this.... AHHH OMG they broke out!   Luckily I noticed that I had forgotten to put a piece of wood to hold the little door closed... could have been a tragic mistake... Thank goodness they were ok!

They really were just telling me they were ready for their evening roaming!

Ginger and Scarlet enjoying their evening snack

I love these chickens...
I'm weird I know!

It's been a quiet weekend without Colten here, I miss his dearly and although the break from five year old-isms sounded nice, I'd rather be with him than without!  Ben seems lost without his big brother to follow around, and had it broke my heart when he didn't understand that saying goodnight to Papa on the phone was all we were getting.

Wonder what other adventures await us this week?...  a trip to the beach to collect sea glass for another secret project, a possible trip to the zoo, a big Southern style crab boil with plenty of authentic southern dishes and friends to share it with, and of course some wood splittin and chicken farmin!

Happy Birthday Nana Kathy and Great Grandma Mert we love you!
