SO the weekend consisted of Coop work... and preparing for a big Southern GUMBO feast!
More work on the coop! Preparing it for the tweens to move in... it will soon be a two roomed coop!
Those poor chickens... can't wait until we're done with all the remodeling so they can relax... oh and us too! haha!

No shin-dig would be complete without Mama's famous cookies... I'm telling you their really famous and I'm not braggin a bit! Cuz I still haven't quite figured out what all the hype is about! Maybe everyone's just being nice... hmmmm

After dinner I some how convinced the ladies to walk up the hill with me to show them a property thats for sale.... maybe they didn't really realize how steep the driveway was... but hey we had to make room for pie right! The view from up there is just amazing!!

Just as me and the ladies were getting ready to cut into those pies... I was told to hurry outside with my camera! The only words that came to mind were "OH NO!" and I bet Jeromy's involved!
Yep sure enough... MY husband thought this would be the perfect time to do a rope swing inspection... to make sure everything was nice and secure WAY up there!
Well... at least we had a firefighter/EMT, a nurse, a chiropractor, a physical therapist assistant, and when I asked Timmy what he brought to the group he proudly stated... he had a pocket knife to perform amputations! Great... I'm feeling better now!
Do you see now why I worry about my kids when I leave them home with my husband?! haha
I know YOU thought this was a good idea... right Jay?!

Thankfully we didn't need to call 911 or amputate any appendages!

Pretty much one of my favorite afternoons of this summer!
Although Nana Kathy assures me that I can make that Gumbo there's no way it would ever taste that good! OMG I can't wait until next summer! I'm pretty sure Nana Kathy is apart of all our families now!!
