Apple Day

One of my new favorite parts of schoolin at home...  having friends over for a day full of learning and fun! With the over-abundance of apples... Apple day was just what we needed!  I was feeling right in my element... don't know if I'm any good at it, but playin teacher is just so much fun!

Before everyone arrived...

We filled that board with everything we knew about apples...

Had a test on the different parts of the apple...

We started out our activities with making apple trees and adding leaves and apples with q-tip painting!

Then it was snack time... wait isn't it always snack time?

Some apple muffins, and some totally delish apple dip with homemade cinnamon chips brought by friends!

Wow looks like we're REALLY enjoying apple stamping! 

Ben's havin a great time... wasn't really expecting this, but he wanted to do what ever the big kids were doing!

Then he just reached in and grabbed one with his hand... like "what are you crazy people doing?" HAHA

And as if we didn't have enough apples... we picked some more!

Then no visit to the Larsens would be complete without visiting the chickens..

They may have completely forgotten about apple day at this point!

Toooo sweet for words! 

Yikes... sittin in the chicken run...  oh well it all washes out... Sorry Molly if your car has a certain chicken smell to it... just pretend you are at the farm...  

I had so much fun, feeling like this will definitely become a regular part of our schedule.  Learning is sooo much fun when shared with others!  Plus how are our chickens going to feel this much love in one day... 

We cant wait to do it again!
