Yep that's right, we survivied our first year of home schooling... sometimes it was touch and go and sometimes it felt like right where we needed to be. All I can say is goodness gracious we are ready for a break from the schedules and some time to just PLAY all day. I'm so excited to relax a bit... oh wait that was dumb, there's no relaxing with these two... ok I'm excited to not have to have separate activities going at the same time and cranky "I don't wanna do school!" moments for a while... that will be relaxing enough for me! Ben will be excited to have Mom and brother back for a while. It's time for nature walks, bike rides, slip 'n slide parties, gardening, chicken lovein, and more campin! There's plenty of learning to be had in areas that don't have workbooks. I'm beyond excited to not have to report our summer learning! Summer will feel more like home schooling than our actual school year. That's ironic right?
We are super excited to be celebrating a special guys 6th birthday...
It's always so fun that his birthday typically falls right at the end of the school year... lots of celebrating going on! We're celebrating Colten's birthday camping style per his request. A steam train ride was also on his list... sounds like a total blast!
We spent our first "no" school day making homemade giant bubble solution...
If you haven't done this you must! We were entertained for over an hour!
Ben was tryin so hard to make a bubble!
So fun!
YEAH way to go Colten!
RAD!
Of course my hands were covered in solution and I wasn't able to get more pictures, but we've done this again since this post and it's still awesome!
A little bird in its nest below our deck... what a fun find for me and the boys!
I definatly had my doubts this year, moments of despare where I really wasn't sure why I was torturing myself SO much.
I feel incredibly blessed to be able to stay home with my boys, watching them grow is priceless, watching them learn new things is delightful and knowing they will be waking up each morning wondering what adventure we'll get ourselves into today fills my heart with much joy... There's nobody else I'd rather share my adventures with.
Next up... a birthday camping adventure...
