Fun in the sun...

So this week was your typical Pacific Northwest week.....rain, rain and more RAIN  but somehow a gorgeous day of heat and sunshine snuck into the forecast for Friday. 

We were in desperate need of some outside play, well outside play that didn't involve a coat and rain boots. 

It was time for our first official Slip n Slide party.  Ok another fun mom moment... inviting your child's little friends over for some crazy slip n' slidin... 



No party would be complete with out a bloody nose right?....  yep Colten and his buddy Haydn ran right into each other, after only about 10 minutes. 

So there I am trying to stop the bloody mess... and all I can hear, "Mom get off me..."  Goodness I thought you'd want a little consoling.... oh yeah that's right you'll be driving next week right.... Stop growing up and don't be so tough.... it's hard on your mama.

We had quite the yard full on this glorious sun filled afternoon.  Twelve kids... no wait really twelve.  I was just taking it all in... really this is what "IT'S" all about.  This is why you have kids, why you don't sleep at night, why you have your kids bloody nose on your shorts, why you're wearing watermelon, why you do it all.... for moments like this.  There was pure kid bliss everywhere you looked... ok there were a few tears shed, a few toys not shared, a few boo boos... but really those things happen no matter what day it is. 

I'm pretty sure they will all sleep well tonight.... Even mine

 I think most of the kids enjoyed the water spraying more than actually sliding...

I don't blame them.... You remember sliding on these things...

Zach was our Slip n Slide Champ for sure... 

 Really kids... this isn't a hot tub... haha

 Eatin their snacks pool side... ok so some of the snacks ended up in the water... but that's what the nets for.. right?

 There's my lil turkey...  he was havin a great time... you'd never know he's cuttin 4 teeth... as long as he's outside.. life is good

 We moved from the Slip n Slide to the sprinkler... due to the yard needing some watering in a different location...  This looks like the start of a race or the plan to get into mischief... Really you never know with these two.  I like how the rest of the kids are just waiting for something to happen...

Thanks to all the mommies who enjoyed this wonderful afternoon in our yard... watching children run wild, eat too many cookies, get a little too much sun and need a bath when they got home. 

We can't wait to do it again....
