Mother's Day Weekend was extremely exhausting but a whole lot of fun too... Our first camping trip of the year... not sure why I was soooo excited, it was nothing like I had imagined. Two glorious nights of less sleep than we get at home and lots of fishing rocks out of a baby's mouth. A whinny 3 year old that couldn't seem to find anything to do.... (really don't kids love going camping... did I miss something here?) We are definalty going to do more local camping from now on and preferrably with lots of grass for my ground scootin rock eatin baby. And since pictures tell the best story.... here ya go
Colten Inpatiently waiting for his brother to wake up from his nap so we could leave...
Almost ready to leave... ughhh that trailer is just sooo stinkin cute.... now if only we had a 57' Chev to pull it...
Ok not the best family shot... Ben's little head is there somewhere... Just pulling out of the driveway... CAMPING OR BUST
Had to stop at the store in the little town before the campground.... Paid an insane amount of money for foil and good and plenty's. Ben needed to streatch his legs and there's nothing he loves more than to "drive"
I can see the lake!
After our first night... my family was up with the birds... 5am while camping.. sooooo not my thing.. Colten and I went for a little walk, so the other campers could sleep.. Lucky bug-ers
Check out my sword mom
A morning hike... "Check out the cave Papa, there might be a hippopatomous in there"
wow... cool shot
Awww beautiful....
Ben was sleeping.... why now little buddy, why not last night...
A cool little bridge... as we crossed it a huge owl flew out from underneath it... (I almost peed my pants)
Baby camping jail....
He preffered this... mom didn't though...
It was all good... as long as that binky stayed in.. haha
Jeromy totally needs to be in a "Tough Man" competition....
Yes that's a almost 4 year old in that pack... ughhh you're gonna feel that later...
The boys throwing rocks in to the water... Colten informed us that.... "it's ok if we throw a bunch of rocks in because the fish will still be able to get through because they have fish-motors" Love him...
"Log"
The napping baby (yes napping again for the afternoon hike) decided to wake up and join us...
Hi Boys... wait where's my third boy? Oh he's still filling the river with rocks...
"Beaver Flats" our lunch destination..
Somebody was having a great time... of course it's the one that didn't walk a single step... little turkey
My little tree climbers... correction.. Root Climbers
Ughhh... it's time for a nap... yeah I'm sure that's what the boys are thinking... whateva
Jeromy's friend from work was nice enough to bring some pretty fancy wood blocks for Colten to play with
I think I have a little watermelon monster on my hands...
Yep...
Time for a fish fry... ok now this is my kinda campin
Banana Boats for dessert... mmmmm
A full belly and a warm fire... life is good
A little evening walk... well ride
A roastin toastin fire..
Mother's Day Morning with my big boy.. we were checkin out all the great pictures we had taken
Happy Mother's Day
Jeromy whippin up some Mother's Day Breakfast... Eggs, Bacon and Starbucks Via...
A great shot of us... Thanks Colten
That's Better...
And this is even better....
Chilly Morning... well yeah usually 6am is pretty chilly
Camping Essentials...
All ready to head home.... well hopefully the memories we made were worth the drive, fuel, skinned knee, bug bites, ingested pinecone, back breaking child packing, sleepless nights, mounds of laundry, and the total realization that we need a giant trailer with a hot water tank and separate sleeping quarters for the kids... well in reviewing the pictures we did indeed have a good time... but camping with a baby takes some extra patience that's for sure...
After returning home and unloading.... some hours later... I felt the urge for some ice cream... if you're a local you know where this picture was taken.... Colten cleaned me out of quarters riding that silly blue buffalo... I totally meant to take pictures of our delicious ice cream but was so consumed by it that I forgot.... mmmmm Blind love and Macaroon Bisque.... HEAVEN
Another Mother's Day Shot for the books..
A couple was crossing a near by street and said they would take a family shot... Sweet... Then they asked us where we were from... well only tourists would want to pose in front of some silly anchor right.... haha
Ughhhhh isn't that Pretty... I especially like the smoke billowing from the paper mill... gives it a real nice touch.... haha
Ben looks like he's had enough of this Mother's Day outing..
Really...
Sail'in into the sunset...
Papa insisted that we get a Mama Shot...
and that was the end of my Mother's day.... it was wonderful
This was the next morning... and what Ben thought of getting sprinkled on by the garden sprinkler...
And this is the only way to water the garden... right
Well that was my Mother's Day Weekend... sometimes being a mom is the hardest, most challenging, stinky, exhausting, thing ever.... and sometimes it's so easy, so rewarding, and just amazingly amazing...

I've been waiting patiently to hear about your trip! We, as mothers, always have big plans for family outings but in my experience they rarely end up turning out "our way". I doubt our kids will mind though :) Love the pics, especially Ben in baby jail and Colten's delicious looking banana :)
