Oh Boys....

So yesterday was such a fun day... it's a must share

So the day began with a well rested family... yep you got it we all slept.  Like as in ALL NIGHT...  totally refreshing.  Jeromy says "I'll take the one night of sleep a month"  and really we're lucky if we get that.

Ok so well rested... we got ready for school.  This morning was no regular school day.. we were picking up one of Colten's buddies/classmates (Haydn) to take to school.

Now I have many, feeling like a "Real Mom" moments but this one definatly topped the charts.  Picking up another little guy for school, listening to the little boy conversations coming from the back seat, peeking in the rear view mirror to catch the silly faces they were making at each other, it was really just pure bliss for this mama.

We spent the drive pointing out all the big trucks we could find.

I happened to find the slowest car on the planet to follow, and not wanting to be known as "Colten's mom drives real fast" I took a deep breath and fought my urge to pass the little silver Prius.  Later after telling Jeromy, he told me he thought it was messed up that I would drive like a crazy person if I wasn't driving another child to school.  Sorry I'll work on that...

After dropping them off and returning home and frantically picking up the house... (even though you'd never know I actually picked anything up) and putting Ben down for a nap,  I was excited to share my morning with a great friend of mine.

She brought her little ones and I must say I was feeling quite off duty!   Sorry though, that she was totally not off duty!  We had some wonderful mommy talk, where only fragments of thoughts were shared but that's just how these visits work (you learn to embrace it)

After what I thought would be a quick meal to prepare...turned into almost 2 hours and two starving mommies later, I served up some breakfast burritos and although I'm pretty sure they were consumed cold and without sour cream we were happy to be eating.

It being close to school pick up time... we parted ways and I headed to pick up the boys who would both be returning to our house for the afternoon.

Again... another fun mom moment signing both boys out of school and loading them (all three) into the backseat.

Arriving home both boys in their school clothes, Haydn informs us that he wants to play outside... it's sprinkling a little and the yard has turned into mud in most areas.  "Deep Breath" ok yes you guys can play outside.

I ran in and put the baby down for a nap (thank you Ben for the great naps during this busy day) then headed back out to watch the boys... (from afar- as to not inturupt anything... you know "no moms allowed, kind of stuff"

Well after finding my son with mud up to his calf it was TIME to change into some play clothes... After finding the boys some matching pants we headed back out.

We are lucky enough to live in Frog Paradise.... So what funner activity could two boys wanna do... Go on a frog hunt of course.

Well the boys acutally said they were going on a bear hunt...

This is Haydns best "Scary Bear" impression....

and Colten's "Scary Bear"...  silly boys

Ok back to the frog hunt....

We found this little guy who totally gave mom a run for her money... he really and I mean really didn't want to be bothered.... Sorry little guy... but boys need to hold frogs

I was able to snag a couple pictures of some girly things while out "being a boy"

Goodness... Spring is sooooooo beautiful

ok so next on the boys agenda was a treasure hunt...

"Mom, we need maps"    well ok I'll attempt to make you guys a map...although your Papa is The map maker.

Complete with snakes, bears, frogs and buried treasure... (don't judge the artwork... I never claimed to be THE map maker remember...

Going on a treasure hunt...  Haydn doing all the hard manual labor... Poor guy

So that in a nut shell was our afternoon.  What a wonderful day of memories...

Besides every mom needs a little frog pee on their hands right?

    1. Thanks for the feedback... I'm having too much fun! and surprising myself... I've never been good at grammar and never thought I was a good writer... but when writing about family and of things that I'm passionate about it all just flows freely. I totally LOVE reading your blog and feel like we have the same sense of humor about things. <3 ya!
