Just yesterday we were eagerly waiting his arrival...
It was around 11:30pm when my water broke after being dilated to 4cm for almost a month...(I was just a tickin time bomb)
Our new medical insurance required that we make the almost 40 minute drive to a hospital in our "network"..... well that felt totally out of the question that night.... being dilated to 4cm already, I was almost half way through labor before my water broke....
We woke Colten up and jumped in the car where we made the official decision that we didn't want to deliver on the Hood Canal bridge.... My contractions were INTENSE... about 3 min apart... We were heading to a much closer hospital... normally a 25min drive cut down to about 12 minutes thanks to Jeromy's skillful driving...
Jeromy was getting excited about his "Drive" to the hospital.... now not so much... Colten sleeping in the back seat and me screaming through each contraction made it hard to enjoy the 90mph speeds we traveled over hwy 20....
I called the hospital to let them know we were on our way and ended up handing the phone to Jeromy because I couldn't talk through the pain...
(later on we found out that we were called in for reckless driving....a deputy pulled into the ambulance bay shortly after us...found out the situation and happily went on his way)
We arrived at the hospital...
I was begging for an epidural....
The nurse said, "Honey we don't even know who you are" (as in when we called we didn't even give them my name so they could pull up my records)... as I had only switched insurance in my third trimester...
There was simply no time....
An hour and 20 min after my water broke....
Benjamin Allen Larsen arrived in this world...
12:10am 7lb 6oz 19 inches long. Practically Perfect in every way....
Ok so one year later... it's time to celebrate.... We gained a son, Colten gained a brother and we are so very blessed to have completed our little family.
Oh Ben, how you have taught us that we had it soooo easy with Colten... well at least you are sleeping now so you defiantly are different from Colten in that department... and I'll take all the sleep I can get.... some days it's like training for a marathon chasing after you.
You defiantly keep us on our toes... climbing on things you'd think were impossible for someone of your size, you climb with confidence... I think you do it just so you can hear your mom gasp for a breath as she comes running to rescue you... (don't think you have her fooled... she sees that little twinkle in your eye and hears that little grunt of satisfaction when you climb on the kitchen table)
You don't say a whole lot as of yet... lots of grunts and squawks... and naa- naa 's and huu-dat's (which we think means - what's that) since we say that all the time.... "Ben.. What's that?"
You want to walk but on your own time.... you've taken about 5-6 steps on your own but crawling is your thing... why walk when you can crawl 80mph.. I get it..
Your little personality is really shinning through... you're super opinionated, you like what you like... you might get that from your mom. You're a mover and a shaker... you don't hold still... not in your sleep or while you're eating.... You wear your mama out....
Your official birthday was on a Tuesday this year... we thought since Bobbie (grandma) wouldn't be unable to attend your party on Saturday we would have a small family party Tuesday night...
Mom made you a pumpkin apple cake with lots and lots of homemade whipped cream on top and here's some pics to remind you of how it went....
You're little "1" cake
I'm guessing it was good? yeah?
Works as hair gel too... sweet
So thinkin you had plenty of practice.... Saturday was here... party time... Yeah you just weren't that up for partyin...
Waiting for something....
This one cracks me up........ lovin my face AND Ben's..... CLASSIC
Oh wait I remember this...
ahhh the good ol' force feed....
Yeah this was more fun the first time...

Checkin out my new toys..
Both the boys enjoy this one...
It was so fun to share this special day with so many..... Ben's delivery nurse even stopped by for a quick visit.... so fun to see her again and kind of reminisce that insane night... she defiantly holds a special place in our hearts.... hugs to you Tanya...
Thank you all that helped on party day... 11am crept up soooo fast many of my party attenders were put right to work... Love you all
Happy 1st Birthday Baby Ben.... We love you to the moon and back :)
