Nana Kathy Adventures....

We were super excited to have Nana Kathy (Jeromy's Mom) with us for two whole weeks this year...  She travels from Louisiana each year to come and visit and usually it's just a quick week visit.  We loved having her here and sharing our chaotic, exhausting, patience testing, daily life with her.  I'm sure she is enjoying the piece and quite at home with her 5 dogs right now....

Feeling pretty awful because as I look through the pictures that were taken while she was here, I'm really wishing we had taken bunches more...  I guess we were just busy being busy and photo taking wasn't at the top of the list....  MOM FAIL

A few days before she arrived we had a huge load of logs delivered.... this being our main source of heat in the winter it was time to start thinking about it.... (as much as it's the last thing you want to think about in the middle of summer)  Anyways... Nana Kathy was totally insistent that we run to the hardware store for an axe...  And I'm sure you'd never believe it and nope don't have any pictures to prove it but that woman split an insane amount of firewood during her stay....  That woman's got GRIT that's for sure.... and she loved every minute of it.   She says she thinks she gained at least 5 or 6 pounds from her stay but I'd bet she lost that much... slavin away on them logs.  She also helped Jeromy build a woodshed... almost completely out of FREE pallets...

Ughhh do we have our work cut out for us.... But what a great feeling it is to know we'll be warm this winter....

Jeromy's wood shed...  nearly completed....  even has a real window.. thanks to a friend who had one laying around.  Not too bad for the whole $46 we have invested... YEAH for DRY wood this winter

Nana Kathy joined us for a morning at the dairy too.... we have so much fun down there....  There's really nothing like starting the day off with some hungry baby cows.  Mooooooooo....

Ain't she so sweet.... I love me some little brown cows...

Love how curious they are... hey can I eat your pants little boy?

That's right we put Nana Kathy right to work... but she loved it

Colten loves the lil Babies...

They were soooo hungry that Colten even looked like breakfast...

Oh my goodness......  hahaha

Ben thought this was just hilarious....

Picture Perfect....  Thanks Shannon for capturing this...

My lil Farmer

Colten insisted he take our picture... "Say cheese mama!"

All you need is love and a little cow slobber... right?

Yep that's Ben's little hand.... he needed some slobber too of course..

Drivin the old farm truck...

Ok Colten it's time to go.....

Moooooo

Really it's time to go buddy....

Nana Kathy wrangling the lil farmer...

Figured since I had some extra hands while Nana Kathy was here that we could handle 4 kids at the Park/beach....  At least now I'll never wonder what it would be like by myself...  it was totally nuts

After stopping 2 minutes into our drive so two little boys could go potty, a screaming baby and a little girl who wanted her shoes off... we finally made it to the park.

After eating lunch, which involved a lot of food falling on the ground and alot of... "I want what he's having..." we decided we were TOTALLY insane.... and we headed down to the beach.

Colten thought he knew what everything was...

It was a minus tide... great some uber slippery rocks to walk on...

There were a few moments where all the kids wanted to go in the same direction... wait where's Haydo?  Ahhhh

Sweet Sissy.... she defiantly does what she wants.... I think she required the most energy on this trip.. hehe

Ben just could be contained any longer....

Rocks taste bad.... SO STOP EATING THEM..

Not our best summer day... pants and sweatshirts... come on, really?

Boys always have to find the gross stuff....

Ben soooo loves the beach...

Nana Kathy wranglin Sissy....  she was insistent on removing her shoes for the 2nd time today.... Nana Kathy gave in...

Mama Mama it's a fewwy boat...

It may be awhile before I venture out with that many kids again....  but I think we had a little fun, ok well the kids had a lot of fun, and I guess that's really all that matters...

Don't worry the lifeguard is on duty...   Ben takin an evening dip in the pool while Nana Kathy, Papa and Colten work on the woodshed.

Sillly Ben..

So what a fun time we had with Nana Kathy... Berry Pickin in our backyard, wildflower pickin, Dairy Farmin, Silverdale Shoppin - (what a nightmare trip that was ughhh)  weed pullin, shed buildin, wood splitin, popcicle makin, crab cleanin, crab eatin, slip n' slidin, Lavender Festival strollin, 1st Birthday Partyin....
