My last day as a twenty somethin!
Jeromy took me out for a nice lunch the day before my birthday to one of our favorite restaurants where we indulged on a Lobster Salad sandwich and a Dungeness Crabwich... followed then by deep fried strawberries....OMG I thought for sure I'd be regreting these food choices later... (luckily it didn't effect me too bad) Ahhh a few hours kid free together holding hands checking out all the little shops we never get to because of grabby little hands. It had been since April of last year since we'd been out on a real date... we found ourselves just looking into each others eyes at lunch not needing to say anything, wishing we'd found a more quiet place to enjoy this unusual kidless moment together. Meant to bring my camera... to record this glorious moment but left it in the car... after trying to get a self portriat of us at the table 3 or 4 failed attempts later with my phone....this is the only shot I have to remember that amazing lunch date...
The deep fried strawberries... totally recommend! Especially when you have a total stud of a husband feedin them to you!
My birthday was spent like any other Monday... My sweet Colten made me a birthday card (his own idea even) upon completing it he told me what everything was in the picture... the one thing that stuck out the most was the picture of me "turning into a hotdog" oh goodness is that what happens when you turn 30? I hope not!
I played legos, made cauliflower Mac and cheese and vacuumed out my car... I guess this is what birthdays have come to... Well the day wasn't over yet... an adjustment at the chiropractor then dinner and dessert at Mom and Dads.
I told Dad to surprise me... however the meal had to include my new found LOVE... Roasted Brussel Sprouts! Too funny.. ever since I was oh about 10 I was forced to eat those nasty little things... I'd gag and plug my nose and chase them down with a beverage... and until last Friday when I tried them I still thought they were the crudest little veggies ever... I swear they aren't cookin up paper at the mill downtown they are cookin up huge vats of Brussel Sprouts! But Jeromy tried one first and told me everything would be ok... So I did it and they are soooo delish! A new regular in our house! :) So Roasted Brussel Sprouts, Dads famous fried rice, coconut flour breaded Alaskan Cod, Artichokes and Strawberry Cheese cake (courtesy of my little sister) YUM YUM! We all shared some laughs and watched the boys bust out their dance moves! It was a great day...
But wait there's more... today (the 19th) is our 9 year weddin anniversary! Which is to be officially celebrated on the 20th... so we can be kid free again... OMG twice in one week... what is this world coming to?
Wow so much celebratin going on! Loads to be thankful for, lots to smile about, and so much to look forward to!
This morning at breakfast... yes even mom is known to eat at the little table...
Thank you Thank you for all the birthday wishes... Turning 30 is scary I won't lie! But 31 should be a cake walk right?!
