You'd think it was summer round here....

So just to let you know this has been the most amazing weekend so far this year... Temps near 80 we can't complain... well my family complained A LOTTT!  My boys don't handle the heat well so I was really the only one elated by our surprisingly warm weather!  Lots of time was spent out soaking up as much of that sun as possible!  And here's how it went...

This is just a little recap of last week... yeah you got it Some May hail... only to be followed by an 80 degree weekend! Crazy right?!

Well the Native in me finally came out... yep there's a Tepee in my living room!
The boys love it and it has been officially deemed the bedtime story location

It's totally not finished but the boys don't care... seen here with all of Colten's favorite friends!

Saturday we enjoyed a day of sightseeing with friends... so so fun to share some local treasures!  Here's Ben and Jeromy... Ben really likes to take it all in... "Come on guys there's lots more explorin to do!"
Colten and one of his besties!

Ohh man don't hurt yourself...
They were havin too much fun!
I must say only little Ben can pull off romeos and socks! What a little stud!

Ahhh Rocky Brook and all it's glory!
Breathtaking!  Really exciting to share this with friends that have never seen it before!

Here we go again!

Lovin this weather for sure!

The bizarre bug that almost chewed my friend Annie's leg off... well that's what you'd of thought happened if you'd a heard her scream!!!  Hahaha

The kids were just totally captivated by this hole in the parking lot at the trail head... they could have squatted there for hours guessin what was down there!

Great company for a hike... for sure!

Wow my first time in our "Murhut Trail Marker Pic" (we take one every year...So fun to share our adventure this year)
Ben and his stick.. watch out Papa!

Thanks to Annie and her googlein skills we learned that a Pileated Woodpecker makes these crazy rectangular holes!

Ok this is too cute!

He's sooo big!

Gorgeous right?!

oh and just the sweetest little girl eva!

Even Ben thinks so!

Goofy..

What a cutie pie!

Really....

Love how it's different every year!

Looks like we posed them for this one...

After our hikin adventures we shared another treasure... a trip to one of our ol time favorite eatin joints... Loggers Landing!  We had the place to ourselves and had a wonderful time... but wait that's not all...

No trip to Quilcene would be complete without hangin out in front of Pen Foods!  (Am I right? haha)  we stopped for ice cream and I must say what a nostalgically weird experience it was to be eating ice cream with my family and friends in front of the same store where I met Jeromy 14 years ago!

Life is good!

Sunday morning breakfast alfresco!
We are lovin this sun!
It's sooo gorgeous right after mowing... ughh sucks it will need to be mowed again in about 3 days! haha
Finally have some stuff planted in the garden... Please stay away deer!  At least till we get our DEER fence built!  I refuse to share our harvest with you again this year!
Yeah remember that hail last week?! haha
Coolin off!
So excited about our new view... Jeromy was given permission to drop a huge dead tree... amazing how different it looks!
We've been free rangin the chickens the past couple of days... I'm not sure who enjoys it more us or them!
It makes me a bit nervous, as we have a ton of huge eagles and hawks that come through the valley, but under Rudy's watchful eye the girls seem to be pretty safe!  (We just love our rooster)

The weekend was supposed to end with a bbq at a friends but I guess I didn't realize how much sun I'd gotten and spent the evening in bed with a migraine! boooo :(  So the boys went to the BBQ without me.  Still a fantastic weekend in the books.  Happy healthy boys, egg layin free rangin chickens, adventures with fabulous friends and weather that will knock the socks off of any Pacific Northwesterner this early in May!  I hear the heats here for at least a couple more days!  Bring it on!

  1. LOVE the tee-pee! I'd thought how fun it would be to make one, but we just don't have the room. Your living room is so roomy, it's perfect! How fun for you to share those spots with the Dams. Must see local family hiking spots for sure! Ice Cream from peninsula foods is a must for us after Rocky Brook too. Great pictures! :)
