Ok when I keep asking Jeromy if he has my pallets tore apart, I totally know why it's taking so long! THIS WORK SUCKS! I spent hours working on those pallets... ok well it feels like it was hours! Thanks Colten for capturing my pallet loving moment! Darn you evil pallets!!
It takes a family....
a "Ham Moment"
and Ben dumping out the rusty nails 8 times...
To breakdown two of 6 pallets!!
I'm so in for it! All my boys have driving (or should we say RACING) in their blood! Ben was soooooo serious as he helped navigate our drive way down to the mail...
Yipeee first day of our local farmers market!! Look at that sky... couldn't have been a more perfect day!
Live music and tons of local vendors! Awesomeness!
Oh and some fabulous pastries of course!
Enjoyin our eats!
Couldn't have said it better myself!
They were just being so picture perfect!
like they were campin and relaxin...
They totally had the right idea!
Garden work is sometimes a family affair...
And sometimes it's just better to have no pants on!!haha
Ben is such a hard worker... if only he could teach his brother a thing or two!
Oh goodness!
That's one HA-PPY HA-PPY HA-PPY little boy! That's a fact JACK!
Sorry just had to throw in some Duck Dynasty humor for ya!
LOVE our new Popsicle molds!! Tried this Amazin recipe well didn't have everything they called for so had to improvise... I think I'll keep MY recipe... mmmm Berries and Cream!
Ben and his nak-ie buns says it's a keeper!
Can't argue with that face!
A boy and a hose.....
complete entertainment for as long as you want the water running
Colten always mistakenly calls these Potstickers! Bahaha!
They are called Red Hot Pokers and I'm not sure why that's so hard to remember!
Bee's are lovin them!
My dwarf maple doesn't seem to mind all the neighbors I've added over the years! Now if we can just get a couple of strawberries off of those plants before our deer friends gobble them all up... oh and photo bombed by the goofy lobster guy!! He's our summer greater!! Kind of like when you go to Walmart... ok I'm crackin myself up now!
I still don't care much for rose bushes but I must say these ones are amazingly enormous and pack quite the amazing aroma!
One of my new favs! It's called Red Hyssop and I love it!! Plus it's Deer resistant and it keeps ants away!!!
I think I will officially call myself the Calendula lady... it's been planted everywhere! and I love that I found that it's not just awesome for skin salves! It's totally edible (the dried ground petals make an inexpensive saffron substitute) and a hair lightener when mixed with vinegar! I can't seem to kill it and it seems to LOVE it here! So it's going everywhere! Here's another row of it on the west side of the garden enclosure...
My returned Calendula from last year now will have an entire row of neighbors for this season as well as a neighboring row of cut flowers and zinnias...
And one of our biggest garden projects thus far... well effort wise anyways... my new wildflower garden! I can't wait to see what comes up first!
Ain't she a butte...
Ben was stung by his first bee a few days ago... he yelped I flicked the bee off and that was that... you'd never know he even got stung it it weren't for his little swollen finger... what a tough guy!
This picture reminds Jeromy and I of Dr. Suess... YOU?!
Mowing is always better naked... right?!
Our Sunday evening was spent on a wild rose quest... you see my very favorite flower on the planet is this particular pink wild rose that grows... well WILD all over, well except on our property... we searched high and low... and without cows in our pastures it was quite the jungle to explore!
Most of the grass is as tall as Ben so he needed a lift! The shovels were in case we found any rose that we could transplant... no luck! but we did manage to plant 2 entire seed packets of Sunflowers all over the property!
Hey... watch it mister!
Ahhhh it's wildflower bliss!
What a fun piece of property we have...
Chest bumpin brother...
Followed by some loves...
A few moments after this... Jeromy gave Colten and big push and Ben darted right out in front of the swing... I screamed and Jeromy like the Prong Horn he is... saved that little munchkin from what would have been a trip to the ER for sure! I'm pretty sure though that poor Ben is scarred for life as I'm pretty sure all two years flashed before him as he was brutally whisked out of the way without a MILLAsecond to spare!
FYI: Colten has recently learned that a Prong Horn (similar to an antelope) is faster than a cheetah... so I had to throw that in! It's a fact jack!
Kowabunga Dudes!
Another great weekend down in the books! Tons of progress in the garden, two pallets closer to my project goals, goods from the farmers markets in our bellies, Chickens sneakin in to poo in Jeromy's garage, trailer brakes almost hooked up on my burb, oh and not pictured Jeromy's new toy... a new saw! Yep his fathers day present, Christmas present and birthday for the next couple years... gosh guy stuff is soooo expensive! haha! Oh but wait there's more....sunshine is in the forecast for the next week...
Life is grand
