Turkey Day.... take THREE!

Feeling incredibly blessed and thankful this year... so much love (and turkey) was shared this Thanksgiving.  Somehow one invite turned into 3 and our Thanksgiving became some sort of marathon.  Nope I'm not complaining... not one little bit.

Waiting on Jeromy to finish up his chicken coop revamp (I know those darn chickens get some sort of coop remodel at least once or twice a month)
Colten thought he was quite the little stud in my heels... little did he know this picture will be used against him in about 13 years! haha

Papa was taking forever... so I thought I'd capture some cuteness..

I just love holiday hair... Thanks to Colten and his grabby camera hands Mom made it into a picture...

Our first Thanksgiving was hosted by my dear friend Annie...
These two found themselves a few things to keep busy...
They both have a wild streak... curious to see what next years photo will look like!

Trouble...
They disappeared for most of the evening... we hardly heard them until after they had their pie (then things got a little outta hand!)

And she said we might have to order take out.... whatever she can cook... (she just doesn't want anybody to know...shhhhh I didn't tell you that)

Simple Beauty

Looks like a machete right?
It's a cake frosting spatula, but I'm sure it would hurt... watch out!

My Paleo Sweet Potato dish... num!!

I had to get a picture of the gravy... haha!
Annies and the backup gravy... haha!
It turned out amazing Annie... stop doubting yourself!

Colten cleaned his plate... must have been good!

So Blessed!

After Pie!

Happiness is spending the holidays with great friends, lots of laughs, wild pie filled children, cranky youngsters, and delicious food!

Turkey Take TWO!
Friday was spent at our friends whom we hardly see much of anymore...
so grateful to still be considered "family"
Most holidays since 2002 have been spent with these guys we could never turn down an invite!
My first deep fried turkey.. Yum!

Didn't hear much out of the boys... busy busy being boys with their little buddy Collin!

YUM!
So greatful for some time to catch up, laugh and devour some more thanksgiving fixins!
Especially Wanda's famous mashed potatoes (really they are famous... at least to me!)
We love you guys!

TURKEY DAY TAKE THREE...
Our third turkey day in a row, took us all the way to Astoria Oregon.  Jeromy's aunt had invited us down for her annual family Thanksgiving.  We were able to find someone to care for our feathered friends and feed the cows so we loaded up and headed south...

Jeromy has a thing for vintage tractors and this one happened to
belong to his great grandpa...

Jeromys Aunt happens to live in the farm house on the property where Jeromy spent some of his childhood...
How cool for him to share with "his" boys!

Checkin out Grandpa Als truck

Let's go that way Papa!

Grandma's Barn..

Look Papa... Elk Poooop

It was a house full!

Ben found the best seat in the house... right in front of all the snacks!

Colten and his Great Grandma

Great Uncle Bobby and Richard

Aunt Judy and Great Aunt Marilyn

Mmmm Pie

Somebody wasn't so keen on overnights without "HIS" bed... ughhh this made for an exhausted and not so happy little man... and MAMA!

You take a break for the both of us...

Poor guy!

Another beautiful turkey..

and some additionally scrumptious sides...
such as stuffing made with zucchini and apples and pumpkin muffins instead of bread,  Brussels sprouts with roasted pine nuts, homemade cranberry sauce, and some amazing cranberry bread

Carve that turkey, so we can eat!

Ok let's get to eatin... Happy Thanksgiving!

So it took a few days of recovery... but I'm feelin better now!  3 Thanksgivings can be rough but just a reminder of how blessed we are.  Sure missed Thanksgiving with my parents and siblings but Reno is quite the road trip, guess there's always next year... right MOM!!
