Spring is in full swing...

Spring break just started, we've enjoyed a couple days of sunshine and I realized I'm a bit behind with blogging... ooops!  So here's a bit of the past couple weeks for your viewing pleasure...

These little guys are one of my favorite parts of Spring!
I'm lucky enough to have a feeder right outside my kitchen window so I'm always in for a good show... there's always tons of chaos at our feeder!

So sweet of them to hold still for a picture or two!

A couple Mondays ago we were invited to Auntie Donnas for chore time...

Ben was determined to catch a gold fish from the water trough..

Paradise... I tell you what!

Colten just loves Donna and is always eager to give a helping hand!

Sherman and Diesel.... growin like crazy!
Just two of the sweetest pups ever!

Waitin for a lawnmower ride...

Fillin troughs

Someone was curious...

Best Buds!

Oh my word, hope Donna knows they will be asking for mower rides every time we come over now!  SPOILED!

Colten was having such a blast!  Zipping around all over

Off roadin!

We are ever so blessed for generous, patient, loving people in our lives like Donna...
Our boys are sooo lucky!

Mama thought the new garden boxes were her new perches!  So cute

My sweet little man filling my garden boxes all on his own

Last Monday, after an awesome no cavity dentist visit for both boys, the hubby called and said we should go have dinner up in the mountains!
It was supposed to rain the rest of the week, so instead of getting yard chores done at the house he said we should get away and de-stress...while the weather is so great..
I'm so glad we did!
Our first choice spot was taken by a family that had the same idea, so we headed further up to a place known as "The top of the world"  So very surreal it was to pull up in our suburban and unload our kids at a place we used to visit on the occasional Friday night back in the day!
Here's a little pickaboo view of Jeromy's work across the water from our dinner camp spot...

Colten doing some exploring of his own... getting so big.. SIGHHH

Ben and our hotdog pokers..

That's right build me a fire...mountain man!

Yeah that's right.... way up in the mountains chowin down on Central Market Sushi...
It pairs nicely with Organic hot dogs...wouldn't you say?

Ahhh my little wilderness boys!

What a nice little recharge at the beginning of the week...
We're excited for more decent weather to get back up there again.

I'm totally digging the flexablilty of homeschooling...
Last week we had a little break in the weather...(little as in a whole 4 hours with no rain!)  So we loaded up and headed down to Quil to do some exploring!

The head of the bay was our first stop...
how fun to have the whole beach to ourselves...
So quiet and peaceful

Colten with our treasure bag...

Ickkk!

We had some little visitors... two otters came to check us out... I didn't have my zoom lens with me (bummer!)  It was so fun to watch them dive and then we'd all guess where they would come up next.

Colten off to get a better look at our little otter friends

Recording our findings...

Next we watched some big trucks load oysters at the Oyster plant, then we headed to the Ranger Station (to look for Smokey the Bear! haha)  We didn't find "him" but the boys were excited to see all the Smokey merchandise for sale! (GREAT!!)  We grabbed some maps and some brochures for local fun things...(you know the places you totally forget about when you've lived here for so long) and headed to the park where we ate a snack and played for a bit before heading home in the..... RAIN!

It's been a fantastic start to Spring!
Frogs singing every night, squalls of rain passing through, daffodils everywhere, apple tree blossoms, bugs, mud, new life everywhere...
