Beach time with Uncle and (soon to be) Aunt Amy!
Diggin to China...
We can always count on Sean and Amy to get in on the fun!
Boys that love baking...
They couldn't have gotten that from their mom right?
Makin gluten free yogurt blueberry muffins!
Such focus
Some spontaneous-ness took us to Portland for the weekend...
Washington Park is totally awesome
Ham
Monkey boy
My lovely daffodil shot... photo bombed by a giant squirrel
Cant visit Portland without a visit to some food trucks...
Didn't take long to find some..
Papa with the goods..
Mmmm steak tacos, pad thai, handmade egg rolls..
Even Ben was lovin it..
Upon arriving at the hotel....
A trip to walmart for pool noodles...
Day two... a trip to the Evergreen Aviation Museum in McMinnville OR
We were to spend the day at the waterpark inside this building...
Looks like the perfect day to be at an indoor waterpark... right?
Yes those are waterslides coming out of the side of the plane.... TOTALLY RAD!
It was amazing... the camera made it inside, but never made it out of the locker... we were just having too much fun! How exhilarating to feel like a little kid again and ride crazy water slides all day!
Ben and his little friend...
The fun didn't end there... next we were off to meet some family at a Train museum for a train ride...
I was wore out too from all that splashing around...
but wait a sec you had a nap on the way here
There's our train
The caboose... complete with a history lesson!
Inside were a few steam locomotives in different stages of restoration...
Of course the boys didn't really care where we were once they found this...
The inside of the firebox on the engine... a very rare sight to actually be able to see... but do to some needed repairs they had to cut it open.
This is what you get when the hubby takes the camera....
Cousins...
After our 40 minute train ride, dinner with the family at a tiny hole in the wall Mexican restaurant that turned out to be out of this world, family time until the wee hours of the night, swimming in the hotel pool, it was the first trip in a long time where we actually didn't want to come home.... traveling has become so simple FINALLY!
Ludlow Falls... you been there?
My first time... Lived in Jefferson Co for 16 years!
Ben trying to keep up with the big boys...
(With his empty backpack)
Came home to find this...
Raccoon, a stray dog, who knows... country life at it's finest!
Mama spotted a snake... and being the stubborn determine type she had to catch it!
Then Papa came home and during feeding cows found a snake in the hay bales...
Again... country living at it's finest!
Yes there's a snake in my kitchen...
This is just how you collect eggs at our house...
Bahaha!
Random weekend hike... took us to Ludlow Lake
He couldn't possibly be related...
His bag weighs as much as a small child... he insisted that he bring EVERYTHING!
Sand embedded in my car, muffin batter in my hair, stupendous family memories in "The city of Roses", snake wrangling (I learned everything I know from Jeff Corwin) farm chores in our skivvies, a sun filled family hike, this Spring is off to a great start... oh and much progress is being made on our little trailer, so it's time to make some camping reservations!
