Fishin for Flounder....

We were super excited to be invited on a fishin trip with our friend/landlord Mr.Mark!
Little did we know how much fun this was really going to be!
I had contemplated staying home, because I was worried Ben would lose interest and get cranky... Not the case! We had a total blast!

We've got our gear... it's time to fish!

A lovely morning..

It really doesn't get any cuter!

Ben's ready!

Papa you ready?

This part of the journey was especially exciting for Colten... he recognized this bridge and shouted... "That's the beach we always play on!"  Wow!  Usually tons of boats pass us while we play on the beach near the bridge... today we're on one of those boats!

A crisp morning!

FISH ON! It was literally seconds after dropping his line!

A serious fisherman...

Reel it in Benny!

Time to fill our first bag... 25 fish!
Flounder Fishin is totally my thing!
Fish after fish after fish!

Uh Oh.. seems we may have lost one down in the bilge..oops!

Such a blast!

I promise no one got sea sick... really!  I'm not sure what's going on with Ben here... maybe he just realized he shouldn't have eaten applesauce, half a bag of chips and a cheese stick in 10 minutes!

Ben's favorite seat!

Bait that hook baby!

Some of our winnings!  Weird lookin that's for sure!

The day wouldn't have been complete without a bloody nose...

So I'm holdin my pole, when all of a sudden I have a bite...
After nearly wasting my poor little wrists....

This beast thought I was shark fishin...

Me and my catch...

Yikes...

Ben was our captain for a while...

Then all that salty air finally got to him...
He slept the entire way back to the marina...

He even missed pulling crab pots...

Captain Colten at the wheel!

And hours and hours of flounder processing!
Totally worth it... those fish make some mighty tasty fish tacos... just sayin!

Oh and lets not forget crab processing!

What a treat, we are forever grateful for the amazing fishing adventure and all the abundance of amazing food harvested right from our own backyard!
