Date Deprived....No longer!

Oh my goodness guess what?  I got to go on a date yesterday!  It was made possible and nearly forced by my fellow date loving wonderful friend!
Although dropping the kids off was our only plan we managed to put together a carefree quiet afternoon that won't soon be forgotten.

Pre date shot... what...good hair days should always be remembered and documented!!

Our Oh YEAH we're droppin "YOU" off in a few minutes shot!
I'm loving the beard thing goin on! Jus sayin!

Ok so the date happened a little like this...
Dropped the kids off... who could have given a hoot that we were leaving them... (didn't get a goodbye or a hug or anything... I was feelin the love really!) but at the same time I was feelin like good they're distracted...RUN!

So we headed to the city... (is going to Silverdale the "Ci-tay" I'm not sure?)
We went and checked out the new REI were I attempted to try on every coat they had in hopes my husband would say something like...
Oh my goodness I have to buy you that one!!
(Think I got a new coat?.... Think again! haha)
After being approached on separate occasions by overly excited employees and by someone that thought Jeromy was fluent in REI merchandise...
we'd had enough and decided to leave empty handed...

Our next stop was an undisclosed location that's best left under wraps :)
Left there empty handed as well!

STRIKE 2

We decided we were hungry and that our favorite BBQ joint would be our next stop... we left the "Ci-tay" and headed to Port Gamble...
(the sweetest little Ghost town eva!)
Only to DUN DUN DUNNNN.... find that they were CLOSED for the season!

STRIKE 3!

So we headed into Kingston...
Not to worry we weren't upset or cranky... the car was quiet except for me runnin my mouth about everything and anything...
Hey a girls gotta use up sooo many words in a day!

Dinner was at the Grub Hut...
Sounds like a uber Classy place... I know!
Gourmet sandwiches, gluten free bread options and grass fed beef...
It's sounding quite classy to me!
OMG it was sooooo good!  My mouth is watering NOW!
We totally overdid it and I knew I'd be payin for it later... (DARN!)

We thought walking would be the best way to deal with our protruding bellies... so we headed into downtown Kingston...
(which consists of about 3 blocks of shops.. which were all closed)
Next we headed down to the marina... I was shivering and I'm pretty sure by ears were borderline frostbitten... but walking down the docks hand in hand, as the sun set was worth it!  We picked out our "boat", watched a beautiful blue heron land just feet from us, laughed and made commentary for a grumpy seagull with a mouthful of starfish...
We talked about our future and how things are looking up for us...

We gave the ferry goers a little show...
Nope nothing saucy... just a couple of camera phone selfies that took more brain power than we had left for the day.... (DARN phone!!)

After our fridged walk we headed back to the car and decided to head to the hardware store... almost have our little trailer siding ready to put back on... just needing the special sealant to finish the job... why not use our date to look for it!
Always Practical!
Well no sealant... but some measuring cups for the chicken food, a latch for Colten's new box he made, a hose fitting and a SPORK... yep a SPORK!

Then as luck would have it we got stuck on the bridge... but for once it was totally OKAY!  we were only about 15 cars back from the opening... it was quite exciting... the bridge was shaking like crazy and it was incredibly amazing to watch the giant Coast Guard Cutter pass through!

Then the evening ended as it usually does... struggling to get two very exhausted kids to bed, who claim they are STARVING, only to collapse on the couch ourselves and reflect on how wonderful our quiet, calm, relaxing outting was...

We were so lucky to have this time to ourselves, it doesn't happen often, so you cherish every moment of it when it does!
