So a few weekends ago we had a whole bunch on spontaneity....
Jeromy had heard about a milartary vehicle display at Fort Worden... sounded cool so we decided we'd go check it out... we parked where we thought we were supposed to and a little military jeep pulled up and offered us a ride... So funny we thought "How cool is this" little did we know the Jeep ride was TOTALLY necessary as it would have been at least 2 miles to get to the actual display!
Some how Jeromy and Colten got the good... padded seats!
Ben didn't mind... well until we picked up another family of 5 and their two dogs.. one of which could have passed for a small horse. Let's just say it was a little too comfy for Ben's "Stranger Danger"
Yep pretty much the coolest BOY excursion EVA!

Next we happened upon an actual tour of the bunkers!
So awesome, I've explored these bunkers many times over the past 15 years but never had an actual tour guide, what a treat!

This hall is completely pitch dark except for the light at the end coming in...
This was also pitch black..

It was a totally enjoyable tour...even with hungry tired boys
We even toured some always locked up buildings! What a treat!

So we're waiting for another little jeep to take us back to the parking lot and this super sweet lady asks us if we'd like a ride down in her Humvee!

We came home to an Amazon box full of new readers!

What a awesome weekend this was...
Sunday...we ended up on a spontaneous trip up to Mt. Walker
Ben and his Moosie... he hardly leaves home without it!

So Colten and I are sitting on the little bench and a few Grey Jays show up... they were curious about the snack some hikers were munchin on next to us.
I snapped this picture and went to go find Jeromy and Ben to tell them about our bird sighting.....
Yeah there was no need... their bird sighting looks more like this! Pffff whatever!
I'm thinkin this one partied a little too hard the night before...haha

Thankfully we were not the first upon a crime scene... just an empty abandoned sleeping back and a glove... weird!

Next we were off to go check the river for Salmon!

There were NO fish... so we went for a bridge walk!
Driven over this bridge about a bazzilion times... never walked it!
Today was the day!
Better yet lets sit on it!
So fun! The whole thing shakes when cars go by!
We got some honks and I had some anxious moments because you are literally just a few feet from the cars doing 50.... but all in all it was awesome!
1st grade is AWESOME! I swear that's what he would tell you!
